Notice to all Faculty Regarding Summer & Fall 2024 Enrollment

Enrollment for the summer and fall semesters will begin on April 3rd.  Below you will find some helpful information that you can use to assist students through this process.

Advisor Holds: Advisor Holds have been added to all student accounts; once an advisor meets with a student they should release the hold from their advisor dashboard.

Enrollment Appointments: All students have been assigned an enrollment appointment, which is the day and time they may begin enrolling in their courses for the next term.

Class Schedule: The class schedule is now available! It can be viewed in myCU by anyone using this link (no need to log on), or by selecting the Class Schedule/Browse Catalog tile on your homepage. Students can search for classes by clicking on Enrollment, then Build Schedule & Enroll or Shopping Cart.

Schedule Builder: Schedule Builder allows students, advisors, and staff to build class schedules based on a student’s availability and selected set of courses. It is intended to make the process of putting together a student’s class schedule simpler.  A general overview of Schedule Builder can be found here, and a list of common error messages and how to resolve them, can be found here.

Students can create their preferred schedules in Schedule Builder and save them to favorites in case a particular course closes before they have enrolled. This allows them to quickly access their back-up plan schedule.

Cross-Registration: Students are able to cross-register during the Fall and Spring semesters. Detailed information on Cross-Registration can be found here. [1]

Steps to Successful Course Enrollment for Students

The below steps have been provided to students as a simple way to help them successfully enroll in the upcoming term.

 Review your advising report

Review your advising report in myCU to prepare for your appointment with your advisor. Be prepared to have a meaningful discussion about your plans.

Meet with your advisor

Contact your academic advisor to discuss your degree progress, and enrollment plans for next term. Your advisor will need to release your advising hold.

Plan your schedule

Use Schedule Builder to plan your class schedule. Saving one or two schedule options as favorites will help you enroll more quickly when the time comes.

Resolve holds or errors

If you encounter warning messages about holds or other errors when using schedule builder, make sure to resolve them before it’s time to enroll.
