Clarkson University Awards – Phalanx Award Nominations

Faculty and Staff Colleagues,

I am hopeful your holiday break was restful and enjoyable.  As we return to our campuses to start our efforts in preparation for the Spring 2021 semester and/or term, on behalf of the membership of Phalanx, I am inviting you to take some time to nominate students, faculty, staff, and community members that have had a significant impact on our institution in the last year for our institution’s highest awards for service and leadership.

For those not familiar, Phalanx is Clarkson University’s highest honorary society. Its purpose is to recognize the achievements and promote the interests of students, faculty, staff and other Clarkson Community members in extracurricular activities, scholarship, service, and athletics at Clarkson.

Annually, Phalanx sponsors the University Recognition Ceremony and the entire Clarkson Recognition of Excellence Weekend; a celebration of the achievements of the Clarkson community.  At the awards ceremony, Phalanx, on behalf of the University, awards Commendable Leadership and Commendable Service awards to individuals, and Distinguished Service awards to organizations at Clarkson.  It is from the pool of those awarded the Commendable Leadership Award that the next members of Phalanx are selected each year.

Don’t let the accomplishments of our students and your fellow professors, community members, or co-workers go unrecognized. Nominate them for the Phalanx awards at this link no later than 8 January 2021:   https://forms.gle/T1vcvCZw1LAjHoax6.

Thank you and all the best in this new year.
Yours,
Erik C. Backus, P.E., LEED AP BD+C, ENV SP, FMP
Howard E. Lechler ’48, MS ’53, HD ’78 Endowed Director
